Nature Flow was invited to participate in a research and design project for the Malaleuca Crocodile Farm in Mareeba, Far North Queensland, Australia. This is a commercial crocodile growing farm with crocodiles grown from hatching to 2 years. Commercial realisation occurs at 2 years of age when the hide and meat of the crocodile is sold. The client required a water filtration and sterilisation system for four juvenile crocodile growing ponds. The climatic conditions within these ponds were to be controlled internally with outside conditions isolated. Raw water for the ponds is sourced from the local wetland. The Nature Flow water sterilisation system supplied operates 24 hours a day, each pond is filtered and sterilised every 15 minutes on a rotational basis. The system is fully automated, requiring minimal input and maintenance from staff. The Nature Flow system has been cost effective and efficient with a marked decrease in juvenile crocodile mortality rates. The Malaleuca Crocodile Farm is located in Far North Queensland, Australia. A picture gallery of this installation has been included here. The building pictured above is built from coldroom panel with a besser block foundation to ensure that optimum conditions exist to improve crocodile growth. The Nature Flow water treatment system is controlled via the master control panel pictured above. Inside one of the growing ponds. Note the small bright dots in the picture - these are the eyes of the juvenile crocodiles. The facility has been designed to produce 500 crocodiles every year. These crocodiles are 2 years old and ready for sale to the export market I'm off to the pond treated by Nature Flow!
